Gunnar Nilsson's Lotus 78 No.3 as entered at the 1977 Japanese Grand Prix at Fuji. The Lotus 78 was a revolutionary ground-effect car that dominated much of the 1977 season. Nilsson, the Swedish driver, was a regular frontrunner for Lotus that year before his untimely death later in 1978.
